Graduate Assistant Coach / Video Coordinator

Johnny Flores joined the Tulane women's basketball program as a student in 2021 and has served in various capacities with the Green Wave since. In April of 2026, Flores, already a graduate assistant coach, added the role of video coordinator. The 2026-27 season will be his sixth campaign with the program, and it will be his first in the elevated role of graduate assistant coach and video coordinator.

A native of New York, Flores is a Tulane graduate. His time with the Green Wave women’s basketball team began as a practice player. During his tenure with the team, he has served as a practice player, team manager, and most recently graduate assistant coach. This past season, he aided Mwai heavily with the video coordination role, with his work earning him the video coordinator title entering the upcoming campaign.

During his time with the program, Tulane has garnered six American All-Conference selections, two all-freshman team honorees, back-to-back American Freshman of the Year awards, and the only three all-newcomer team selections in program history. Additionally, the program’s lone American Newcomer of the Year winner came in Flores’s first season in Uptown when Moon Ursin took home the hardware in the 2021-22 campaign. Flores has been a part of two WNIT appearances in 2022 and 2023.
