Keyshan Patel

Keyshan Patel joined the Tulane staff as an athletic trainer in the summer of 2025.
He arrives at Tulane after most recently working as a Season Athletic Training Intern for the New Orleans Saints from June 2023 – May 2025. In the role, he scripted and executed rehabilitation plans for injured athletes, aided in practice and game coverage, maintained accurate medical records in the EMR, aided in the completion of player physical exams, communicated/enforced player practice status, with coaches and team personnel, facilitated the collection of NordBoard and DARI testing, maintained records for therapeutic dry needing used to obtain scripts, aided in the organization and set-up of remote practice training camps for the 2024 season in Irvine, California, maintained up to date rosters with MRN, NFL ID, and DOB, maintained inventory of all supplies (tape, braces, modality items), facilitated the collection of hydration testing and sharing of all reports with staff, performed pre-and-post-game/practice treatments, facilitated field set-up/breakdown for practice and gamedays and transported athletes for doctor’s appointments, surgeries, imaging and relayed reports to team medical staff.
Prior to the Saints, he worked as a Summer Training Intern for the Los Angeles Chargers where he aided in the practice and game coverage, executed rehabilitation plans for injured athletes, performed pre and post-game and practice treatments, transported athletes to doctor’s appointments and relayed reports to the team medical staff, facilitated transportation of trunks and emergency equipment for games and practices, maintained adequate inventory for all supplies (tapes, braces, modality items, etc.).
He is BOC Athletic Training Certified along with BLS Provider (CPR and AED) and HeartSaver First Aid – American Heart Association Certified plus Structure and Function Dry Needling.
Patel is licensed by the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners and a member of NATA.
He obtained bachelor of science degree with a major in Exercise Science and a minor in Strength and Conditioning from the University of Delaware in May 2021. He earned his master’s degree in athletic training from the University of Delaware in May 2023.
