Mariah Leffingwell joined the Tulane sailing team as a graduate assistant in the fall of 2020.
Leffingwell has served as a sailing coach at the Annapolis Yacht Club, Portsmouth Abbey High School, Miles River Yacht Club and the Tred Avon Yacht Club during her career.
Leffingwell sailed collegiately at St. Mary’s College of Maryland and earned Intercollegiate Sailing Association All-American Crew honors in 2015 and 2016. During her collegiate career, Leffingwell placed second at the MAISA Team Race Championship and the Gill Coed Western Semifinal.
She also finished third in 2016 and seventh in 2015 at the LaserPerformance Team Race National Championships. The Easton, Maryland, native also added a seventh-place finish in 2015 and a 12th place finish in 2016 at the Gill Coed National Championship.
Following her graduation from St. Mary’s, Leffingwell entered Roger Williams University School of Law where she graduated in 2019. She is currently enrolled in the Admiralty and Maritime Law LLM Program at Tulane. The St. Mary’s graduate was also selected as the Maritime Law Fellow for the 2020-21 school year.
