CINCINNATI -- The University of Cincinnati volleyball team (15-3, 6-1) took early leads in games one and two and finished off a pesky Tulane Green Wave team (8-8, 2-5) in three to move the squad's winning streak to five. The Bearcats won 15-5, 15-5, 15-11 thanks to their balanced offense, which saw five players record at least eight kills.
Tulane's Kim Sentmore was held to eight kills in the match. The junior entered the game ranked No. 12 in the nation in kills per game (5.27). Sentmore and Britney Hurst paced the Green Wave with eight kills apiece. Jennifer Witte had 25 assists and five digs for Tulane.
For Cincinnati, Stephanie Meinig dominated at the net for UC with match-highs of 12 kills and six blocks. Meinig hit .556 (12-2-18) to lead the squad, which hit .292 as a team. Jill Waltemeyer chipped in with 11 kills and seven digs in the win.
Tulane plays Southern (B.R) on Tuesday, Oct. 12, in Baton Rouge. The match is set to begin at 7:30 p.m.
