BATON ROUGE, La. - Tulane's (9-8) Lindsey Bennett totaled 13 kills and led the Green Wave to a 3-0 victory over Southern (10-14) Tuesday night.
In the first game of the match, the Green Wave scored six unanswered points to extend their lead to 13-4 before going on to win the game 15-5. Tulane went on to sweep the Jaguars, winning the last two games 15-5 and 15-6.
Bennett recorded a .474 hitting percentage to go along with a match high 13 kills and 10 digs against the Lady Jaguars. Both Ashley Reese and Britney Hurst had double-double performances as Reese recorded 11 kills and 11 digs and Bennett put down 10 kills and 14 digs. Lacey Vicknair led the Wave in blocks with six.
This weekend, Tulane plays two Conference USA matches on the road. The Wave takes on UNC Charlotte Friday, Oct. 15 at 7 p.m., followed by a match against Saint Louis on Sunday, Oct 17 at 2 p.m. The Green Wave returns home on Tuesday Oct. 19, as they take on LSU at 7 p.m.
