Wave Volleyball Loses Battle To St. Louis

ST. LOUIS - Despite a 23 kills effort by Lacey Vicknair and Kim Sentmore, the Tulane (9-10, 2-7) volleyball team was defeated by Saint Louis (19-4, 6-3) 3-1 on Sunday.
Vickair recorded nine kills and led Tulane to a 16-14 win of game one. The Wave trailed 14-11, and scored five unanswered points, four by Vicknair, to top SLU. Tulane's momentum was snuffed by a strong Billiken attack as Saint Louis took the last three games, 15-8, 15-7, 15-9.
Vicknair hit .226 with three blocks and two digs, while Sentmore recorded 15 digs and three service aces. Ashley Reese slated a match high 21 digs and Liz Gruns had a team high five blocks.
For Saint Louis, Laura Risley put down a match high 28 kills and nine blocks.
The Green Wave returns home on Tuesday, Oct. 19, as they play in state rival LSU at 7 p.m. On Friday, Oct. 22, Tulane takes on Southern Miss in Fogelman Arena at 7 p.m.
