
Volleyball Squad Blasts Past UAB, 3-0

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Tulane volleyball team (8-6, 2-3 C-USA) out hit UAB (8-10, 1-4 C-USA) .279 to .083 and went on to defeat the Blazers 3-0 Sunday afternoon.
The Green Wave defeated the Blazers 15-6 in the first game, as they held the Blazers to a .061 hitting percentage. UAB jumped out early in the second game and led the Wave 6-3. Kim Sentmore answered the Blazers' three points and recorded 13 kills to lead the Wave, who took the second game 15-12. Tulane sealed the victory with a 15-9 win in game three.
Sentmore led the Wave with 24 kills, as she hit .313 for the match. Sentmore also recorded 12 digs. Match highs were posted by both Ashley Reese, 13 digs, and Lacey Vicknair, four blocks.
For UAB, Denise Feer recorded nine kills and 11 digs, while Shelly Greene had eight kills and 12 digs.
Tulane takes the court again on Friday Oct. 8, as they play Conference USA rival Louisville in Fogelman Arena. Match time is set for 7 p.m.
