Women's Volleyball Splits Matches

RUSTON, La. - The Tulane Green Wave (2-1) split matches defeating Louisiana Tech 3-2, and losing to Lamar 3-1 in the first game of Saturday's competition in the Louisiana Tech Power Volleyball Tournament.
The win over La. Tech was decided in a fifth game, as Tulane surged over the Lady Techsters 15-11, 15-11, 12-15, 15-17, 15-11. Kim Sentmore lead the attack with 23 kills.
In the first match of the day, Lamar defeated Tulane 3-1. Costly errors hurt the Wave, as they lost by the scores of 15-13, 10-15, 13-15, 10-15. Freshman Lindsey Bennett led the Wave in hitting with 15 kills and .333 hitting percentage for the match. She recorded her first collegiate double-double with 15 kills and 16 digs as well as four blocks. Sentmore had 22 kills and 15 digs, while Lacey Vicknair put down 12 kills, 13 digs and four blocks.
Tulane plays Stanford on Monday Sept. 6, at 7:30 p.m., in their 1999 home opener.
