BEUNA VISTA, Fla. - Despite a career high performance by sophomore Britney Hurst the Tulane (17-16) volleyball team dropped a 3-1 decision to Tennessee (23-8) in the first match of the 2000 Florida Volleyball Conference Challenge. The game scores were 15-8, 15-6, 8-15 and 15-10.
Hurst led the Wave with a career and match high 26 kills and hit .413. Kim Sentmore posted 20 kills and 15 digs. Erin Dobyanski recorded 10 kills and 13 digs, while Jennifer Witte had an errorless performance with six kills.
The Green Wave is 1-2 against Southeastern Conference schools in 2000.
Leading the Lady Vols, was Janelle Hester with 18 kills. Ariana Wilson posted 16 kills and Kelli Scott had a team high 11 digs.
Tulane plays host school Florida at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 25.
