Women's Tennis Falls to TCU

NEW ORLEANS, La. - - TCU won five of six singles matches en route to an 8-1 victory over the Tulane women's tennis team at the Goldring Tennis Stadium on Saturday.
Tulane's lone win came at No. 3 singles, where freshman Julie Morris posted a 7-6, 6-4 win over Daria Zoldakova. TCU claimed the No. 1 singles match, as Lucy Dvorakova claimed a 4-6, 6-1, 6-4 win over Tulane's Anna Monhartova. TCU's Dorrit Huppes was a 6-2, 6-1 win over Maiko Cook at the No. 2 spot, while Leoni Weirich was a 6-1, 6-0 winner over Jessica Kessler at the No. 4 position. TCU's Jessica Kjellgren claimed a 6-4, 6-1 victory over Anneli Axsater at the No. 5 spot, while Debbie Bell picked up a 3-6, 6-2, 6-2 win over Tulane's Joyce Bergman in the No. 6 match.
TCU claimed wins at all three doubles match. Dvorakova and Zoldakova teamed to give the Horned Frogs an 8-2 win over Tulane's Morris and Olga Mikhailova at the No. 1 spot. TCU's Bell and Huppes were 8-6 winners over Monhartova and Kessler at the No. 2 spot, while Weirich and Stacey Sabala posted a 9-7 win over Tulane's team of Cook and Axsater at the No. 3 spot.
Tulane returns to action on Wednesday, April 12, as the Green Wave travel to face Miami in Coral Gables, Fla.
