Tulane Athletics Announces On-Line Auction Program

NEW ORLEANS -- The Tulane University Department of Athletics announced Tuesday that it will begin an on-line auction program on its official web site.
The program, which debuts Friday, May 19 on www.Tulane.Green.Wave.com, will make various Tulane athletics memorabilia available through auctions on the Tulane web site. All proceeds from these auctions will go to the Green Wave Athletic Association for the benefit of Tulane student-athletes.
"We are very excited to offer some one-of-a-kind items to our fans worldwide through this program," said Vince Granito, associate athletic director for revenue operations. The on-line auction is a unique fundraising effort to assist Tulane student-athletes, and at the same time, reach out to a new group of fans via the internet."
The first item up for bid on May 19 is a 2000 Tulane baseball schedule poster autographed by the six senior team members. Further auctions will occur on a regular basis on the site and feature items from every Green Wave varsity sport.
