Men's Cross Country Wins Ragin' Cajun/Popete's Invitational

LAFAYETTE, La. - - Tulane's Peter Rotich won the men's individual title to lead the Green Wave men's cross country team to the team championship at the Ragin' Cajuns/Popeyes Invitational on Saturday.
The Green Wave women also fared well, finishing second to LSU by a mere six points.
Rotich breezed through the four-mile men's course in 20:51.59, bettering the second place finisher by more than 18 seconds. The Green Wave had its top five runners each finish in the top 15 to claim the team title with 40 points. Northwestern State finished second with 96 points.
Meshack Muldi was Tulane's second-best finisher, completing the race in 21:11.19 to finish fifth. Anthony Legat was eighth with a time of 21:39.92, while Adam Leskis was 12th with a time of 22:37.29. Philip Romero rounded out the Green Wave scorers with a 14th-place time of 22:43.44. Ryan Gallagher just missed a top 20 finish for the Green Wave, turning in a time of 23:25.57 to stand 21st.
On the women's side, Theresa Maru finished second in the women's individual race with a time of 17:05.24 over the three-mile course. The Green Wave's 78 points trailed only LSU's 72. Lyndic Galka was the Wave's second finisher, turning in a time of 19:29.90 to stand 10th. Caryline Pradieu finished 14th with a time of 19:58.01, while Angela Milner was 18th with a mark of 20:04.09. Nikclola Balogun recorded a time of 21:19.46 to finish 35th, while Sheena Garwood was 42nd with a time of 21:41.47.
