
Tulane Volleyball Defeats Memphis, 3-1

NEW ORLEANS, La. - Green Wave (9-6, 2-2 C-USA) setter Jennifer Witte became the Tulane career assists leader and Betsy Becker Ferrer picked up her 100th career win in Friday's 3-1 victory over Memphis (6-9, 0-3 C-USA). The game scores were 15-10, 11-15, 15-13 and 15-3.
With the 59 assists in tonight's match, Witte became the all-time leader in career assists at Tulane. Her total is 3,392 in two plus seasons as the Green Wave's starting setter.
Leading Tulane in tonight's match was senior Kim Sentmore with 22 kills and 20 digs, marking her first 20-20 performance of the season. She also served three aces. Freshman Kim Swafford had a team high six blocks along with 11 kills. Erin Dobyanski and Lindsey Bennett each added 13 kills to the Wave's attack. Dobyanski notched 16 digs. Freshman Lauren Jones-McClain recorded five blocks and 11 digs.
Memphis' April Harriman put down a team high 18 kills and recorded 12 digs. Ginger Garrett added 11 kills.
With the 3-1 win over the Tigers the Wave picked up its second straight win of the week heading into Saturday's match against UAB. The match begins at 7 p.m. and is scheduled to be played in Fogelman Arena
