Tulane Coaches Call-In Show Opens Tonight

NEW ORLEANS, La. - The first edition of the "Tulane Coaches Call-In Show" will be broadcast live this evening (Monday) from Superior Grill beginning at 7 p.m. The 60-minute weekly production will be hosted by Jim Freeman, new "Voice of the Green Wave," and Tulane director of athletics Rick Dickson. During the football season, Green Wave head coach Chris Scelfo will be featured.
Superior Grill is located at 3636 St. Charles Avenue. Food and drink specials will be available to Green Wave fans. In addition, tickets to Tulane's home opener against East Carolina will be given away at the restaurant, courtesy of Budwesier. Fans may also register to win tickets to the Southern Miss game, courtesy of Twin Tire & Auto Care.
The live show will be broadcast by WTIX-FM (94.3), the Green Wave's new flagship station. WTIX will carry all Tulane football and men's basketball contests, as well as coaches call-in shows, on its 100,000-watt signal in the New Orleans market.
In addition, the Tulane Coaches Call-In Show will air on WABL-AM (Amite, 1570), WSKR-AM (Baton Rouge, 1210), KROF-AM (Lafayette, 960), KMRC-AM (Morgan City, 1430) and KTIB-AM (Thibodaux, 640).
The Green Wave will open its 2001 football season this Saturday, traveling to Provo, Utah, to battle BYU in the Black Coaches Association (BCA) Classic. Kickoff is slated for 3:30 p.m. (Central) and the game will be aired live on ESPN2
