Women's Tennis Sweeps Singles Against TCU

COLLEGE STATION, Texas - - The Tulane women's tennis team swept all six singles matches and took two of three in doubles against TCU at the Texas A&M Round Robin Tournament on Saturday.
Tulane freshman Jenny Kuhn won at No. 1 singles for the second straight day, posting a 6-3, 6-2 win over TCU's Saber Pierce. Maria Ivanov, last season's Conference USA Freshman of the Year, was a 6-0, 6-3 winner against Karla Mancinas at the No. 2 spot.
Nancy Kockott recorded a 6-3, 6-3 win over Ivonne Andrade at No. 3 singles, while Ana Saaibi was a 6-1, 6-0 winner against Brenna Shackelford at the No. 4 spot.
Lucy Wood and freshman Alexis Coulourides closed out singles play with wins at No. 5 and No. 6 singles, respectively. Wood cruised to a 6-2, 6-0 win at the No. 5 spot, while Coulourides was a 3-6, 6-4, 10-7 winner against Emily Waters at the No. 6 position.
The Green Wave also posted a pair of wins in doubles play. The team of Jenny Kuhn and Ana Saaibi were 8-1 winners over Shackelford and Andrade at the No. 2 spot, while Wood and Coulourides teamed to post a 9-8 win over Waters and Purdy at No. 3 doubles.
The Green Wave will face Washington State on Sunday.
