Tulane Completes Doubleheader Sweep

NEW ORLEANS, La. - Tulane University completed a doubleheader sweep on Saturday afternoon with a 5-2 victory over the University of New Orleans at Goldring Tennis Stadium. The Wave had defeated Wichita State, 7-0, in morning action.
Tulane, ranked No. 38 in the nation, improves to 5-1 on the year.
The Wave won the doubles points with wins at the No. 1 and No. 3 flights, then clinched the victory with wins at the top four singles flights.
Junior Victor Romero (Atizapan, Mexico), ranked No. 33 in the nation, cruised to a 6-2, 6-3 win at top-flight singles against UNO's Victor Loven. The nation's fourth ranked player, sophomore Michael Kogan (Kfar-Saba, Israel), remained undefeated with a straight-set triumph at No. 2 singles.
Also winning were juniors Mattias Westerberg (Lulea, Sweden) and Jorge Lievano (Bucaramanga, Columbia). Westerberg went to three stes for his victory, while Lievano won in straight sets.
The Wave is back in action this Friday and Saturday at the Conference USA Shootout in Fort Worth, Texas.
