Tulane's Leppanen Fourth in Heptathlon

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Tulane University freshman Helmi Leppanen (Kerava, Finland) took fourth place in the heptathlon at the Alabama Relays on Thursday and Friday at the University of Alabama's Sam Bailey Track.
Tulane also had two runners in the men's 10,000-meter run on Friday. Junior Anthony Lagat (Eldama-Ravine, Kenya) finished in sixth place with a time of 31:47.23. Sophomore Ryan Gallagher (New Orleans, La.) finished in 24th place with a time of 35:09.14.
The Wave outdoor track teams will be in action at two meets next weekend. Some individuals will run at the Stanford Relays, while others will be participating at the Florida Relays. Both meets begin on Thursday.
