Tulane Track in Action at Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - Tulane University will have 20 student-athletes in action this week at the prestigious Penn Relays, hosted by the University of Pennsylvania.
Action will begin on Thursday for the Green Wave with freshman Jelena Jurlina (Zadar, Croatia) competing in the discus at 10 a.m. Also in action in Thursday field events will be freshmen Helmi Leppanen (Kerava, Finland) and Meghan Greeley (Foxboro, Mass.). Leppanen qualified in the shot put and the javelin, while Greeley will throw the javelin.
The Wave will also have three women's relay teams in action Thursday, as the 4x100, the 4x400 and the distance-medley relays will all run.
For the men, freshman Erik Emilsson (Bjarred, Sweden) hopes to qualify for the NCAA Championships in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. That event will be run at 6:45 p.m.
