NEW ORLEANS, La. - Individual-game football tickets for the 2002 Green Wave season will go on sale beginning Monday, July 1, Tulane Ticket Director Tim Zenner announced today.
Tickets for the Sept. 28 Tulane/Texas contest, which will bring to town former Green Wave head coaches Mack Brown and Greg Davis, will go on sale at 8:30 a.m. on July 1. Sideline tickets for the Longhorn game are $28 with endzone seats priced at $24. Youth tickets are available for $10.
Tickets for the Second Annual Big Easy Classic between Tulane and Southern University will go on sale Wednesday, July 17. Prices for the season-opener on Aug. 31 are $28 dollars for sideline seats and $24 for all endzone seats. In addition, all seats in the Terrace will be $20 for adults and $10 for youths ages 2-18.
"Texas is one of the bigger-named teams to come to play Tulane at home in a while, so we hope to get fan support early and get a loud, supportive crowd for the Green Wave," Zenner said. "As for the Southern game, that was a big hit with fans of both schools last year, and we're expecting another great crowd in 2002."
All other individual-game tickets, including the Oct. 26 Homecoming game against Navy at Tad Gormley Stadium, will be on sale beginning Tuesday, Sept. 3. Tickets for the game against the Midshipmen as well as Southern Miss are $25 for adults and $10 for youth. Individual tickets for the Army, UAB and Cincinnati contest are $21 for adults and $10 for youth.
The Tulane/Navy Homecoming game at Gormley will mark the first time since the 1974 season that the Green Wave will play a home game outdoors. Since the 1975 season, Tulane has played all of its home games in the Louisiana Superdome.
Season tickets for the 2002 season are still available with adult packages priced at $150 and youth tickets selling for $50. The Tulane Ticket Office also offers a "Family Pack" which, excluding the Big Easy Classic, provides two adult and two youth tickets to any of the other five Tulane home games for $150.
All Tulane football games will be broadcast live on the flagship station of Tulane Athletics, WTIX AM 690 and 94.3 FM, and can be heard live on the internet at www.tulanegreenwave.com.
