Women's Soccer Upended By Southern Miss

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Tulane University women's soccer dropped its regular season finale on Friday evening, losing at Southern Miss, 3-0, in a Conference USA match. The Green Wave will be in action next week at the C-USA Women's Soccer Tournament in Charlotte, N.C.
Southern Miss (9-6-3, 2-6-1 C-USA) used two first-half goals from freshman Sarah Brennan, while goalkeeper Anna Snyder posted five saves for the Golden Eagles.
Tulane drops to 11-6-1 and 6-4 in league play.
"We're a young team and we expect to have our ups and downs," Tulane coach Betsy Anderson said. "We have had some great individual efforts throughout this season; we just have to put it together and play at our best at the conference tournament."
Brennan's first goal came at the 7:03 mark of the first half from 10 yards out when her shot deflected off Green Wave goalkeeper Megan Morey.
Ninty-four seconds later Brennan struck again. This time, her shot came off a rebound from the Morey's deflection, earning her eighth goal of the season.
Lauren Prewitt added an insurance goal for the Lady Eagles (9-6-3, 2-6-1) in the second half at the 67:10 mark, for the 3-0 win.
Tulane (11-6-1, 6-4) outshot Southern Miss 13-12, but the Lady Eagles won the shots on goal category at an 8-5 clip.
