NEW ORLEANS, La. - Tulane University men's tennis stars Michael Kogan and Dmitriy Koch will not participate in this weekend's ITA National Indoor Championships due to injuries.
It was the first time the Green Wave had two players qualify for singles at the ITA Indoor Championship.
"It is too bad Michael and Dmitriy can not participate; it is the first time Tulane has had two players qualify for singles at the ITAs," head coach Robert Klein said. "But our priority is to get them healthy."
Koch, who is ranked No. 90 in the nation, earned an automatic bid to the tournament by reaching the finals of the ITA Regional Championship. Kogan earned an at-large slot in the tournament on the basis of his No. 7 national ranking and his performance at the ITA All-American Championships where he reached the semifinals.
Tulane will open its spring team campaign on Jan. 24, hosting the University of San Diego in New Orleans.
