Tulane Men's Tennis Tops Middle Tennessee

NEW ORLEANS, La. - The Tulane University men's tennis team won its 20th consecutive home match with a 4-0 defeat of Middle Tennessee State on Saturday afternoon at Goldring Tennis Stadium.
The Green Wave, ranked No. 27 in the nation, will put its streak on the line on Sunday, hosting No. 8 Vanderbilt at 11 a.m. Fans will be treated to a free crawfish boil as well as the top-notch tennis action. Admission is free to all Tulane home tennis matches.
In Saturday's action, the Green Wave earned the doubles point and then won three singles matches to clinch the match-victory. The remaining matches were not finished as the Green Wave women's tennis team had a match scheduled as well.
Victor Romero and Dmitriy Koch both won 6-2, 6-2 decisions to put the Wave on top, 3-0, and then Hannu Piiroinen upended Anant Sitaram, 6-1, 6-4, to wrap up the victory.
In doubles play, Romero and Michael Kogan cruised to an 8-2 victory, while Koch and Goran Vasiljevic clinched the point with a 9-8 victory at No. 2 doubles, winning the tiebreaker, 7-5.
