Jorge Lievano
Men's Tennis
Bucaramanga, Columbia
After struggling through the early season for the Green Wave men's tennis team, senior Jorge Lievano came to life when it mattered most, at the Conference USA Tournament. He has now won three straight matches, including a pair of key singles victories in the league tourney. He and classmate Mattias Westerberg teamed for a doubles win which clinched the doubles point in the C-USA title match. After earning All-Louisiana honors a year ago while tying for the team-lead in victories, he has again been nominated for state-wide recognition. For his career, Lievano has 37 singles wins and 38 doubles victories. He has played three years at Tulane after transferring from North Greenville College in North Carolina. Lievano has helped the Wave to an all-time high ranking of No. 15 in the nation and will join the team on Wednesday to watch the NCAA Selection Show as Tulane will find out its destination in the NCAA Tournament.
