AUBURN, Ala. - Tulane University junior Dmitriy Koch (Bueckeburg, Germany) remained perfect this season with a singles and a doubles victory in Saturday action at the Auburn Men's Tennis Invitational at the Luther Young Tennis Complex.
Koch, who is ranked No. 90 in the nation, defeated Auburn's Rodrigo Minozzo, 1-6, 6-4, 7-5 in singles action. In doubles action, Koch and freshman partner David Goulet (Longueuil, Quebec) registered an 8-6 victory over Ruben Zrihen and Sanzaruz Zaman from UAB.
Koch also won both of his season-opening matches on Friday.
Sophomore Patrizio Maucci (Neuilly, France) and senior Maxime Lacroix (Auch, France) also had singles victories. Maucci stopped Auburn's Robbins Taylor, 6-3, 6-4, while Lacroix upended Jean De Lange from UAB, 6-4, 6-4.
Senior Hannu Piiroinen (Tampere, Finland) lost his singles match, falling 6-3, 6-2 to Sanzarus Zaman from UAB. Piiroinen and Maucci also had a hard-fought doubles loss, slipping 8-5 to Zoltan Pelva and Andy Columbo from Auburn.
