Tulane Takes Two in Women's Tennis Action

NEW ORLEANS, La. - The Tulane University women's tennis team picked up a pair of victories on Sunday at the Goldring Tennis Center. The Green Wave stopped Nicholls State, 7-0, in a morning match and then came back to defeat Southern, 4-2, in the evening. The Wave improves to 4-0 with the victories.
Four Green Wave players picked up a pair of singles victories. Erica Valdes, Maria Ivanov, Dorrottya Magas and Ana Maria Saaibi each cruised to straight set wins in both matches. All four also had wins in doubles against Nicholls State. Doubles were not played in the Southern match. Magas dropped just one game in the two matches, winning 6-0, 6-0 against Nicholls and 6-1, 6-0 against Southern.
Freshman Kate Rosenbloom made her collegiate debut and earned a 6-2, 6-1 victory at No. 6 singles against Nicholls State.
The Green Wave returns to action next Sunday hosting Conference USA foe TCU at 12 noon.
