Tulane Pride T-Shirts and Hats Now Available On-Line

DALLAS - Tulane fans across the country can now purchase merchandise featuring the same logo which all Green Wave teams are wearing this semester on-line at www.TulaneGreenWave.com. A limited line of merchandise, including short and long-sleeve T-shirts and hats, is now available with proceeds from each sale directly benefiting Tulane Athletics.

The T-shirts feature the new Tulane Pride (The Torch, The Face, The Name) logo in large format on the back, while the front has the Tulane "T-Wave" and the words "Tulane Athletics." The T-shirts have sold briskly at each of the Green Wave football team's last two games and will be on sale again at the Tulane Alumni Association tent and pregame tailgate party at Cajun Field in Lafayette on Saturday. The website store has added long sleeve T-shirts, as well as hats in a variety of colors.
The colorful logo carries the words "The Torch, the Face, the Name," symbolizing the mission of Tulane Athletics to "carry the torch, be the face and represent the name" of Tulane University during the Fall 2005 semester. Designed by Judy Henry of jmac design in Tulsa, Okla., the logo is in the shape of Tulane University's primary logo, the "Shield." Inside the green outline is a torch above an image of the skyline of New Orleans, dominated by the Louisiana Superdome. The words "Tulane University, 2005" are featured prominently above that image.
Tulane student-athletes representing 13 teams are enrolled in four different universities across Louisiana and Texas this semester after Tulane University was forced to cancel the semester due to the devastation in New Orleans wrought by Hurricane Katrina. The Green Wave student-athletes are attending Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, La. (football, women's track & field), Texas A&M University in College Station (men's basketball, women's soccer, women's swimming & diving, volleyball, men's and women's tennis), Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas (women's basketball, baseball) and SMU (men's golf, women's golf) while continuing to compete for and represent Tulane.
The on-line Green Wave Sport Shop is currently only offering the Tulane Pride items but hopes to add more items in the near future. Continue to check the website for the latest items and information.
