
Tulane Falls To Butler 82-61

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Brandon Polk scored 26 points on 9-of-13 shooting and Butler led by double digits through most of the second half to beat Tulane 82-61 Wednesday night.
Avery Sheets scored 16, A.J. Graves 14 and Bruce Horan 12 for Butler (3-3), which led by 23 with 2:07 left. Polk also had six rebounds.
Quincy Davis had 12 points for the Green Wave, who never led.
Chris Moore added 11 and Donnie Stith 10 for Tulane (1-2).
The Bulldogs took an early 10-0 lead and stretched it to 40-32 at the break.
The teams each shot about 46 percent from the field, as Tulane went 23-of-50 and Butler 23-of-49, but the Bulldogs outshot the Green Wave from beyond the arc and from the free-throw line. Butler was 8-of-19 on 3-pointers compared with 4-of-10 for Tulane.
The Bulldogs also took advantage of many more trips to the line, shooting 77 percent (28-of-36) compared with the Green Wave's nearly 69 percent (11-of-16).
