
Kuehn Named Conference USA Athlete of the Month

COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Tulane senior women's tennis player Jenny Kuehn has been selected as the Conference USA November Women's Tennis Athlete of the Month, the league announced on Thursday.
Kuehn, a native of Leipzig, Germany, earned her first C-USA honor of the season after winning the Wells Fargo Hurricane Katrina "Fundraiser" Tournament in College Station, Texas. After advancing to the championship match by defeating Manuela Santos of Tyler Junior College, Texas A&M's Raquel Wagner and Seva Iwinski, Kuehn defeated Green Wave teammate Erika Valdes, 6-2, 6-2 for the tournament crown.
In doubles play, Kuehn and Valdes paired to play a flawless 3-0 tournament after defeating the tandems of Sara Giles and Santos from Tyler Junior College, Texas A&M's Tiffany Clifford and Iwinski and Kasia Jakowlew and Jessie Rochfort en route to the doubles title.
For the weekend Kuehn, the tournament's top seed, went a perfect 4-0 in singles action and posted a 3-0 mark in doubles play to win both the singles and doubles titles.
Kuehn, a two-time Conference USA Player of the Year, and the Green Wave have concluded the fall portion of the schedule and will return to action at the start of the spring semester.
