NEW ORLEANS - At least five Tulane home baseball games will be broadcast on a local, regional or national basis this season, beginning this Friday and including the Tulane-LSU game on April 19.
Earlier this year, Tulane announced that its home contest versus LSU on Tuesday, April 19th at Zephyr Field will be televised nationally on ESPN2 beginning at 6 p.m. (CDT). That start time was moved back one hour to accommodate the national television broadcast.
Cox Sports Television will air four Green Wave home games, including the first game of the series between top-ranked Tulane and defending national champion and third-ranked Cal State Fullerton on Friday, March 11 at 6:30 p.m. That contest, and the final scheduled televised game versus Memphis on Saturday, May 7, will air live across the state and region on Cox Sports TV (cable channel 37 in New Orleans). Those contests will also air on a tape-delayed basis on Cox 10 in New Orleans with Friday's game replayed Sunday, March 13 at 1 p.m.
In order to accommodate the live television broadcast on Cox Sports TV, the game time for the contest on Saturday, May 7 versus Memphis has been pushed back to 4 p.m. First pitch was originally scheduled for 2 p.m. at Turchin Stadium. The replay will air on Cox 10 on Sunday, May 8 at 1 p.m.
A pair of Sunday Conference USA matchups - April 3 versus UAB and April 17 versus Houston -- will be broadcast tape delayed on Cox Sports Television across the state, and live on Cox 10 in New Orleans. Those games begin at 1 p.m. (CDT) in Turchin Stadium and will be shown statewide on CST at 7 p.m. in the evening on those Sundays.
Bob DelGiorno, Jr. and Larry Matson will call the action for the four Cox Sports Television contests, which are being produced for Cox by DelGiorno Broadcasting Corporation.
Tickets for all Tulane games, except the LSU contest, are on sale through the Green Wave Athletics Ticket Office in the James Wilson Center or by calling 504-861-WAVE.
