Tulane Athletics Events Cancelled Due to Weather Threat

NEW ORLEANS - Tulane Athletics has cancelled all of its events for the next several days due to the threat of Hurricane Katrina and the subsequent closing of Tulane University beginning Saturday at 5 p.m.
The second day of the Tulane Invitational women's soccer tournament, scheduled for the Westfeldt Facility on Sunday and featuring North Dakota State, Alabama and Troy along with host Tulane, will not be played. Tulane Fall Fan Day, which had been scheduled for Sunday from 5-8 p.m. at the Westfeldt Facility, has also been cancelled. In addition, Monday night's debut of the Tulane Coaches' Radio Call-In Show at 7 p.m. from Superior Grill in New Orleans, will be rescheduled.

The Green Wave football team assisted incoming freshmen with Move-In Day as previously scheduled Saturday morning, before going through an early afternoon practice at the Louisiana Superdome (see related release).
Tulane University will close at 5 p.m. Saturday and remain closed through Tuesday, August 30. Employees are scheduled back at work on Wednesday, Aug. 31 while classes will now begin on Thursday, Sept. 1.
