On the team's progress throughout the season and outlook heading into Saturday's game
"We've shown progress and that's what I've been mainly concerned with - that we get better. We've shown that we've been very competitive all year, we've been in games all year and that's what we want to do. We want to end it on a good note."
On the emphasis on helping Matt Forté rush for 2,000 yards in 2007
"We want to get Matt 2,000 yards. Obviously, he doesn't' do it all by himself, but we'd love to see him attain that goal. Only 11 guys in the history of the game have ever done that, so that would be a real plus for him and our program."
On if he's pleased with his team's effort so far this season and this week in practice
"They're practicing hard and they're very focused. We've had to scale it back a little bit and save (the hitting) for the game because we're they're banged up right now. But for the most part, they're practicing hard, they're effort is good and they're doing a good job."
On if his team is ready for Saturday's game at Rice
"Absolutely. We're ready to go."
