Final Home Match

Another week of hard-fought volleyball matches has given way another pair of wins. I feel like such a broken record after going over my past blogs and seeing that same opening, but I guess that's a good thing when talking about winning. It's hard to believe that we have only ONE more conference match left. This season seems to be just flying by!
Coach has been stressing the importance of taking each match one at a time, focusing on each game, each point separately, making each a new challenge in itself. We have to first focus on finishing our regular season with a win against UTEP on Friday night (which, by the way, everyone needs to come to. There's free stuff, $1 beer and hot dogs, music, and of course your favorite volleyball team!
This season we have remained unbeaten at home, only adding to our excitement about this last match. A perfect at-home record? Who could wish for anything else... except a perfect season in general, of course.
Too bad there aren't any seniors this year to revel in the glory- what would normally be Senior Night, the last home game of the year when the seniors are honored for their years of hard work, is now dubbed "Friends and Family Night." Each of us is going to be escorted out to the court by a friend or family member of our choice. Of course, I made the right decision in choosing my cousin, Katie Case, who coincidentally is an alum of both Tulane and the volleyball team. Maybe it'll take her back to her glory days.
Then we move our focus to the conference tournament. I'm getting so excited just writing about it. Things are so much different than last year. We are tremendously more focused, all of our returners have improved and our new additions to the team have added greatly to our system. We're just ready. We want a banner. We want to win.
Of course, I'm sure the rest of the teams in our conference think they're ready and want to win, too. Guess it's gonna be a rude awakening for them, right?
