So, where did I leave off? Ah, yes- game day excitement. Well, for those that only read my blog and look at no other part of the website, we won the Sugar Bowl tournament! As I was saying, our uniforms may fit a bit funny, but they definitely look sharp in pictures from the weekend. Turns out, it doesn't matter what you wear when you win.
It's such a great start for the season because it was definitely a full-team effort. With the win, though, come more expectations for the season. We all know that we can do better, so instead of focusing on the results of our matches, we're trying to concentrate solely on our performance during it. I guess it's kind of like studying for a test: you know that you're really supposed to be studying consistently in order to learn the information, but you end up just cramming for the test. Instead of worrying just about the grade, though, you should give attention to the material in order to retain it... or at least that's what my mom always says.
Another good thing about those wins was that we had to come from behind during our match against Colorado. Put up against a wall, it really shows how hard our team is willing to work together against an opponent. To see that early in the season is great.
So after a long weekend of playing, what does your favorite team do? On our days off, we sit on the couch and watch movies. Maybe I should keep a running list of our favorites. Ah, another time. Another one of our favorite activities is to eat at Bruff, our cafeteria. It's been pretty busy on campus with all of the new and returning students that moved in this weekend, so it's been a slap in the face to have to wait in line to get food. However, they come to our games to cheer us on, so I guess it's ok if we share meals with them. Oh, time for another meal!
