
Tulane Earns NCAA Division I Baseball Distinction with Tenth Highest Attendance in 2008

The Tulane baseball team recorded the tenth highest attendance in 2008, according to a NCAA Division I report. The inaugural season of Greer Field at Turchin Stadium took place in 2008, in which the facility played host to 39 Tulane home games. 140,402 Green Wave fans passed through the gates during the season, averaging 3,600 attendees per game.
Of the nine members of Conference USA with baseball programs, the poll listed five other member schools in the top 50, in addition to Tulane.
The Green Wave enjoyed a .654 winning percentage (25-13-1)at home last season, including victories over nationally-ranked UC Irvine, Houston and a series sweep against then #21 East Carolina.
Greer Field at Turchin Stadium will again open its doors to Tulane baseball fans for the Green Wave season opener on February 20, 2009 as the host team takes on LeMoyne (Syracuse, N.Y.). First pitch is at 6:00PM.
