Overall thoughts on her team's performance
"The girls' performance was great. We had two goals for the meet - to swim smart and to have fun. They were able to accomplish both of those things. We arrived at the pool early and swam a full workout, had lunch, and then got back in the pool for a warm-up prior to the meet. Each swimmer competed in three-to-five relays, some of them swimming distances ranging from 200-500 yards per race. Overall, the girls put in about 12,000-13,000 yards today and still managed to perform well throughout the meet."
On who stood out today at the North Texas Relays
"As expected, Grace Tarka had a great meet. She swam some tough doubles and was a stand-out for us in both fly and back today. Another swimmer that performed well today was Allie Evans. Allie had the most difficult day in regards to number of races and distance raced and still had some gas left in the tank at the end of the meet. She outperformed swimmers from every team present and contributed heavily to the Tulane point total."
On what the team learned from today's relay meet
"I think the most important thing that the team learned today is that you can race tired and still swim fast. Our girls haven't had a `break' since they started up in August. Each week gets progressively harder. This has been their toughest week yet with swimming, conditioning, and mid-terms. They are physically and mentally tired and they came together as a unit and performed very well today. I'm extremely proud of them. They are showing a lot of maturity for a young team and are swimming competitively with much more seasoned programs."
On what she hopes her team takes from these relays to help tomorrow against North Texas
"Hopefully this maturity and confidence will spill over into our dual meet with North Texas. UNT swam very well today and the competition is going to be tough in each one of the 16 events tomorrow. We're looking forward to the challenge."
