On the overall field at the Alonti Cougar Fall Draw
"This field is very strong, but it's not the Auburn Tournament...it's not the ITA Regional. We've got confidence and we're closing out matches now. It's a pretty dangerous combination when you come to a tournament that you feel you can do fairly well in. We're just looking to bring home a lot of victories."
On having played several of the teams in the Alonti Cougar Fall Draw already this fall
"We've played several of these teams earlier in the fall season. It's sometimes easy to say you know what to expect, but at the same time, everybody is working on different things throughout the fall. Just because we played a certain team earlier in the year and had some success, that doesn't mean that guarantees success now. With every team that's in this tournament, we have to come out ready to play and fight both mentally and physically."
On what it would mean to have another solid performance over the weekend to close out the fall season
"It would be huge. It's something that we've talked about all week - finishing strong and finishing on a positive note. We have the talent to do it. We have all the tools we need to do it. The biggest motivating factor we got from Auburn at the ITA Regional was confidence. We went out there with the South Region's best teams. The last few days, it was Alabama, Auburn, LSU, Ole Miss and Tulane. Those were the teams left standing. After seeing something like that and the girls noticing that we are just as talented as these girls are. We just need to put it all together now. I think the confidence you pull from that type of tournament, it's easy to come into this tournament and feel ready and feel prepared mentally. That's half the battle and that's what I've preached to them from day one - believing that you belong and going out there and executing everything that we talk about. It would be a wonderful end to an incredible fall season for our second year back."
On if her team has shifted its focus from performance goals to result goals for the Cougar Fall Draw
"Obviously, I want us to win some matches, but it's always about doing the little things right. That's what it's always about and that's what the fall is for - start executing the things that we talk about, really putting those into play, moving forward and playing aggressive when you can. I think Auburn was an example that if you do everything right, victories are going to happen no matter what. They're going to happen because you're doing everything that you're supposed to do. Obviously, I want us to focus on the little things, but at the same time, now we're moving into an era where we're doing the little things right now we need to bring home the wins. We brought the wins home in Auburn. Now let's continue to do that here."
