Kathy Trosclair
Head Coach 1981-87

One of the most successful coaches in the history of Tulane Athletics, Kathy Trosclair stands as the winningest volleyball coach in Green Wave history. Trosclair, who coached at Tulane from 1981-87, compiled a 174-90 record with the Green Wave and holds the record for career wins, while ranking second in winning percentage (.682). She led the Green Wave to 20-plus wins in seven of her eight seasons at the helm, including a pair of 30-win campaigns.

Trosclair's 1986 squad set the school record for wins in a season (31-6) and winning percentage (.838), but the record for victories would not last long as her 1987 team went 33-7.

For her accomplishments, Trosclair was named Southeast Region and Louisiana Coach of the Year in 1987, and was voted into the Louisiana Volleyball Coaches Association Hall of Fame that year.

Trosclair's coaching career, however, came to an abrupt end following the 1987 season when she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Her health deteriorated quickly, and she died soon afterwards.

In her honor, the Louisiana Volleyball Coaches Association awards the Kathy Trosclair Award annually, which is bestowed upon the athlete who exhibits the same qualities that characterize the award's namesake: a genuine love of volleyball, unselfish support of her coach and teammates, leadership, spirit, and sportsmanship.

In Fall 2004, Trosclair was inducted into the Tulane Athletics Hall of Fame.
