Ohashi Last To Fall at USTA/ITA Regional

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Tulane freshman men's tennis player Takuma Ohashi advanced to the round of 32 in singles of the 2010 USTA/ITA Southern Regional before falling to Auburn's Tim Hewitt, while sophomore Idan Mark reached the semifinals of the singles consolation.
Ohashi fell to Hewitt, 6-2, 6-1, in the round of 32 to end Tulane's run in the singles draw. Mark was one of five Green Wave players in the singles consolation bracket, but the only player to advance.
Mark defeated UAB's Tom Puetz, 6-2, 6-2, and Troy's Mario Rolembery, 3-6, 6-3, 10-4, but did not complete against UAB's Daniel Moser in a quarterfinal match that would have taken place on Sunday morning.
Overall, Tulane posted a 5-13 singles record and was 1- 4 in doubles play.
The Green Wave return to the courts Nov. 5-7 for the Alabama Invitational in the final tournament of the fall.
