• Saturday's game marked the 18th meeting between Tulane and Army on the gridiron. With the loss, the Green Wave are now 9-8-1 all-time against the Black Knights, including a 5-3-1 record in New Orleans. The loss was the second straight home loss to Army, including a 44-13 loss to the Black Knights on Oct. 4, 2008 in a game played at Tad Gormley Stadium.
• With the loss, Tulane falls to 2-3 on the year. It marks the third straight year that the Green Wave are 2-3 after five games.
• The loss also marks Tulane's fourth consecutive homecoming loss. The last time the Green Wave won a homecoming contest was against Army on Oct. 28, 2006, when they earned a 42-28 victory in the Louisiana Superdome.
• Tulane held Army to just 31 yards passing, marking the first time a Green Wave opponent threw for less than 100 yards in a contest since last year's contest against the Black Knights. In that game played on Oct. 3, 2009 at Michie Stadium in West Point, N.Y., Army had 26 passing yards.
• The Green Wave lost three fumbles in the second quarter against Army, which the Black Knights turned into a touchdown and a field goal (Army missed a second field-goal try). The fumble total on Saturday matched the Green Wave's total for the year entering the ballgame.
• Sophomore middle linebacker Trent Mackey posted double-digit tackles for the fifth consecutive game to open the 2010 season, posting a career-high 17 stops (10 solo, 7 assists) against the Black Knights. Mackey's previous career-high tackle total was 13 (5 solo, 8 assists) against Southeastern Louisiana in the season-opener on Sept. 2 in the Louisiana Superdome. His tackle total was the most by a Tulane player since Adrian Mitchell had 17 stops at Navy on Nov. 10, 2001.
• With six catches for 63 yards, senior wide receiver Casey Robottom increased his string of multiple-catch games to 14. The last time Robottom failed to post multiple catches was against McNeese State on Sept. 26, 2009, when he did not record a touch in the Louisiana Superdome.
• Robottom also had his first scoring reception of the season - a six-yard pass from Ryan Griffin in the first quarter - on Saturday against Army. Robottom added a second touchdown reception in the fourth quarter to mark the first multiple-score game of his career.
• True freshman strong-side linebacker Dominique Robertson had a career-best 10 tackles (4 solo, 6 assists) against Army. His previous career high was five (2 solo, 3 assists) vs. Ole Miss on Sept. 11. His fumble recovery in the second quarter was the first of his young career.
• Sophomore QB Ryan Griffin threw for a season-best 211 yards and three touchdowns on 20-of-34 passing. His previous season-high yardage total was 203 vs. Ole Miss on Sept. 11. His three touchdown passes were his first of the year, and tied a career high originally set in an overtime win over UTEP on Nov. 7, 2008, and tied a week later at Rice (Nov. 14).
• Junior WR Joe Kemp enjoyed a career day on Saturday against Army, tallying six receptions for 57 yards. His previous career high in receptions was three at Houston on Sept. 25 and his previous best in receiving yards was 34 at Rutgers on Oct. 2. He also completed 1-of-2 passes for 12 yards on the day.
• Sophomore WR D.J. Banks also logged his first collegiate score on Saturday against the Black Knights, catching a five-yard touchdown pass from Ryan Griffin with 14:16 to play in the ballgame.
• Ryan Griffin's two-point conversion pass to Casey Robottom marked the first time the Green Wave scored a 2-point PAT since Nov. 3, 2007, when then-senior RB Matt Forté ran for the conversion against Tulsa in the Louisiana Superdome.
• Sophomore defensive end Austen Jacks tied a career high with 2.0 tackles for loss against Army. He also had a pair of stops behind the line in the 2010 season opener against Southeastern Louisiana on Sept. 2.
• Four Tulane players extended their double-digit starting streaks - senior OT Pete Hendrickson with 29 straight, senior WR Casey Robottom with 23, senior CB Phillip Davis with 16 and sophomore QB Ryan Griffin with 11.
• Senior Andrew Nierman started Saturday's game at Houston at center, marking the 40th time in as many games that he has played in that he also started. The lone game during his time at Tulane that Nierman did not start was last season at LSU (10/31/10) when he was sidelined due to injury. Since that game, Nierman has now started nine consecutive games for the Green Wave.
• Sophomore RB Payten Jason started his first collegiate game on Saturday and is the third player to start at the position for the Green Wave this season - joining Albert Williams and Orleans Darkwa.
• Tulane captains for Saturday's ballgame were permanent team captains senior OL Andrew Nierman, senior CB Phillip Davis and senior SS Alex Wacha, along with game captain senior TE Cody Sparks.
