THIBODAUX, La. - Riding a two-game winning streak, the Tulane men's basketball team travels the 65 miles down the road to face Nicholls State on Friday at 4 p.m. CST in Stopher Gym.
The Green Wave (3-1) is coming off a 91-45 victory over Maryville University on Monday night that followed a 77-36 win over Centenary a week ago.
Tulane's lone loss came on the road at No. 20 Georgetown, 69-53, on Nov. 15.
Nicholls State (1-2) is coming off a 76-56 loss at Oklahoma State on Sunday. The Colonels' lone victory came at LSU, 62-53, that followed a season-opening overtime loss at Houston. This game will be NSU's home opener.
"This is a game that is going to be really tough and one that will get us ready for league play down the stretch," Tulane head coach Ed Conroy said. "They move really well, are well coached and are experienced. This is going to be a heck of test for us."
The Colonels are led by senior forward Anatoly Bose who is scoring 29.0 points per game this season, including pouring in 37 in the loss at Oklahoma State. Bose's 29.0 points per game is just under half of the Colonels' 60.0 points per outing.
Senior guard Kris Richard leads Tulane with 18.3 points per game, while sophomore guard Kendall Timmons is posting 14.8 points and 9.8 rebounds per contest. Sophomore guard Jordan Callahan leads the team with 5.8 assists per game to go along with his 13.5 scoring average.
This will be the 18th meeting between the two schools. Tulane has won all 17 of the previous meeting, including both in Thibodaux. This will be the school's first meeting since Nov. 22, 2008 and the Green Wave's first trip in Stopher Gym since 1991.
Tulane returns home for a two-game home stand starting Tuesday when Alabama State visits Fogelman Arena for a 7 p.m. CST tip off.
