NEW ORLEANS - Tulane football went back to work on the practice field on Monday in preparation for Saturday's dual with Rice at 2:30 p.m. CST in the Louisiana Superdome.
The game will be the Green Wave's (3-6, 1-4 C-USA) third of four straight home games before closing out the regular season at Marshall on Nov. 27.
Fourth-year head coach Bob Toledo practiced his team for 14 periods on Monday at the Westfeldt Practice Facility that began the preparation for the Owls (2-7, 1-4 C-USA).
Despite back-to-back losses, freshman Orleans Darkwa has been a bright spot for the Green Wave. Darkwa collected his third straight 100-plus rushing game with 138 yards on 27 carries against Southern Miss, and became the first back at Tulane to record three straight 100-yard rushing games since Andre Anderson accomplished the feat with four straight 100-yard games in 2008. Darkwa was also the first Tulane freshman to reach the 100-yard mark in three straight games since Mewelde Moore did so in 2000.
