Mark's Run at ITA Ends in Qualifying Finals

TULSA, Okla. - Tulane men's tennis junior Idan Mark's run at qualifying for the 2011 ITA All-American Tournament fell short Wednesday afternoon when he fell to Mississippi State's James Chaudry in the final round at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center on the campus of the University of Tulsa.
Mark, ranked 50th in the nation in singles by the ITA, fell 6-0, 6-3, to Chaudry, the 72nd ranked player. Chaudry advanced to the main draw of the All-American Tournament to be played at Tulsa over the next four days.
The Hod Hasharon, Israel, native reached the final round of the qualifying tournament with a 7-6, 6-3, victory over St. John's Vasko Mladenov in the first round and a 7-6, 6-2, win over Yale's John Huang in the second round.
Tulane and Mark will return to the courts on Oct. 21 at the ITA Regional Championships in Auburn, Ala.
