NEW ORLEANS - Dominik Koepfer, a native of Furtwangen, Germany, signed a National Letter of Intent to join the Green Wave as freshman in the fall of 2012, it was announced by Tulane head men's tennis coach Mark Booras on Thursday, during the spring signing period.
Koepfer finished as the runner-up in the Boys F16 Futures this past fall in Germany and is considered one of the top players in the country.
"Dominik was one of the top players in Germany last year and we are really excited to get a guy of his level," Booras said. "He is a great athlete with a lot of upside. I think he will have an immediate impact on our program when he gets here in the fall. He already has the ability to come in and play in our line-up as a freshman. That will give us more depth that we need to continue to improve the program."
The Koepfer will join early signees Alexander and Ian Van Cott on the Green Wave roster that will include six seniors, a junior and two sophomores in the fall of 2012.
