NEW ORLEANS - Tulane men's tennis head coach Mark Booras announced the addition of a dual match with cross-town foe Xavier on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. CT at the Goldring Tennis Center.
The match will be a part of the Green Wave's (10-9) season-ending homestand that began Saturday with a 4-3 heartbreaking loss to No. 56 Middle Tennessee State. In the loss, the Tulane double team of Idan Mark and Joe Young earned their ninth straight victory, 8-6, over MTSU's Marlon Brand and Yannick Born, while the pair of Rodrigo Rappaccioli and Shaye Wali won for the fourth straight time, 9-7, to secure the doubles point.
Wali and Rappaccioli also earned singles victories for the Green Wave. Wali won for the third straight time with his 3-6, 6-3, 6-2, victory over MTSU's Christopher Lang on court three.
Xavier (12-6), a member of the NAIA Gulf Coast Conference, has not played since an April 5 loss at Vanguard in Costa Mesa, Calif.
The Green Wave defeated Xavier, 5-0, at home back on Jan. 28.
Following Tuesday's additional match with Xavier, Tulane will close out the regular season at home this weekend with a match against UL-Lafayette on Saturday at 1 p.m. CT and a match against Tulsa on Sunday at Noon.
