MTN Heads to Seahawk Inv. at UNCW

NEW ORLEANS. - Four members of the Tulane men's tennis team will converge upon Wilmington, North Carolina this weekend along with four other teams for the 2015 Seahawk Invitational. Freshmen Tyler Schick and Eric Wagner along with seniors Alex and Ian Van Cott will represent the Green Wave at the three-day event starting Friday, Oct. 30, at the UNCW Courts. NC State, Richmond, and USC Upstate will also be in attendance with the host UNCW.
The Tulane foursome will start each day with doubles against one of the competing teams, followed by singles play against a different opponent. On Friday, the Green Wave are slated for doubles against USC Upstate followed by singles vs UNCW. Saturday will feature the Wave against Richmond (doubles) and USC Upstate (singles) followed by Sunday's schedule of UNCW (doubles) and Richmond (singles).
The Seahawk Invitational will commence at 9 a.m. CT on both Friday and Saturday and begin at 8 a.m. on Sunday. Furthermore the event features three teams that finished in last year's final top-75: No. 39 NC State, No. 41 Tulane and No. 74 UNCW.
Tyler Schick leads the participating quartet with a 7-2 singles start to his Green Wave career. Schick most recently produced a run to the quarterfinal round of the ITA Southern Regionals. Fellow freshmen Eric Wagner follows suit with a 5-2 record, while the Van Cott brothers share the same 4-3 mark.
