Men's Tennis Opens Play at UNCW

WILMINGTON, N.C. - Alex and Ian Van Cott, Eric Wagner and Tyler Schick all took to the courts on Friday at UNCW, representing the Green Wave in day one action of the Seahawk Invitational. The foursome started the day with doubles against USC-Upstate followed by singles competition against the host school.
Alex Van Cott was the lone Green Wave competitor to record a win in both doubles and singles. The senior partnered with Wagner to take down the duo of Matt Bennion and Ignacio Garrido, 6-1. Then Alex earned a hard fought 7-6, 6-4 singles win vs. Christiaan Van der Burgh.
Saturday's schedule will see the Olive and Blue clash with the Richmond Spiders in doubles, followed by USC Upstate in singles.
