Volleyball Travels to Houston for Midweek Tilt

NEW ORLEANS - Tulane volleyball will look to end a three-match skid when they take on American Athletic Conference opponent Houston at the Athletics/Alumni Center in the Lone Star State on Wednesday, Nov. 18 at 7:00 p.m. CT.

The Green Wave enter the match with a 9-19 overall record, as well as a 3-13 record in league play. After picking up a victory in four sets against Temple on Nov. 6, the Green Wave have dropped three-straight - including two in five sets - to UConn (Nov. 8), at SMU (Nov. 13) and at Tulsa (Nov. 15).
Junior Tea Juric remains in the team lead in kills with 371, kills per set at 3.37 and service aces at 26. Sophomore Sarah Ray owns 318 kills while freshman Aubrey Folk (185), junior Sarah Strasner (154) and rookie Dayna Kern (122) have all eclipsed the 100-kill mark on the year.
Freshman Elizabeth Hurring owns the team-lead in assists with 508, while junior Ally Frank owns 397.
Defensively, freshman Lisa Mordell owns a team-high 415 digs, while Juric (365) and Ray (298) are not far behind. At the net, Kern (107) and Strasner (102) are one and two on the squad in total blocks.
The Cougars sit at 17-11 on the season with a conference record of 7-9. Houston is coming off a loss at SMU, 3-1, on Sunday after sweeping Tulsa in straight sets the Friday before. Houston defeated Tulane, 3-2, in New Orleans back on Oct. 7 during the third week of conference play.
Individually, Brookah Palmer owns the team lead in kills with 451, and she is coming off being named the Offensive Player of the Week from The American. Five other Cougars own triple-digit kill numbers, including Hunter Wise's 214. Palmer also owns the team lead in service aces with 44.
Keandra McCardell has posted a team-high 848 assists, while Olivia O'Dell paces the team in digs with 609. Chenelle Walker is the only Cougar with 100-plus blocks on the year with 118.
Following the match at Houston, the Green Wave will return home to close out the home portion of their schedule with a tilt against East Carolina on Sunday, Nov. 22. It will be Senior Day on Sunday, where the team will honor lone senior Amy Lanski during a pre-match ceremony.
Following their final home match, Tulane will take on Memphis (Nov. 25) and Cincinnati (Nov. 27) on the road.
