Question: What made you choose Tulane?
Answer: They have great academic programs, and the football program is good too. The new coaching staff at the time, and all the players they were bringing in.
Q: How would you describe your transition from high school to college?
A: Athletically it’s faster than high school. The pace of the game is faster. My first game against Jackson State I had to adjust to the speed. Academically college is more flexible than high school. You can choose your own classes, and I think that’s pretty cool. You have more time to study, and you have to focus on your breaks in between them.
Q: What has been your best memory at Tulane so far?
A: My first interception versus Georgia Tech. I was the first person to catch an interception in the stadium, so I think that will go in the record books. The ball hit me in the chest, so I thought I was going to drop it at first. I got my eyes on the ball and I caught it. The intensity of the team and the fans definitely boosted up.
Q: Where is your favorite place to go in New Orleans?
A: I like going home. And then probably downtown to the riverwalk, go to eat and shop.
Q: What made you choose Public Relations as a major?
A: There’s so much you can do with public relations. I like to talk a lot. If you can advertise yourself, you’ll have a greater outcome. It’s about connecting businesses. One day I hope to own my own business, and have connections and resources around the world.
Q: Do you have any specific goals for yourself this year?
A: Off the field I would like to get my grade point average to a 3.8, or a 4.0. Pass all of my classes with a B or higher. On the field I would like to have 7 interceptions, and at least 70 tackles.
Q: If you were stuck on a deserted island, and you only had three things, what would they be?
A: A football for sure, a cell phone, and my girlfriend.
Q: Any plans for after Tulane?
A: I want to go into the real estate field. Have some properties all around the world. And do some traveling. I like to travel. I used to travel a lot with my dad to when I was younger because he was a truck driver. I went to Virginia, Florida, Texas, all over really.
Fun fact: I’m a cool person. You get to know me, I’ll have you laughing all day. I’m multitalented. I played basketball, baseball, soccer, and track growing up. Also, I’m the best person in 2K on the Tulane campus.
