Men’s Tennis Complete Day One at ITA Southern Regional

AUBURN, Ala. – The Tulane men's tennis team completed an up-and-down opening day at the ITA Southern Regional at Auburn on Friday. After a slow start in doubles, the Green Wave bounced back in singles as five Tulane players advanced to the Round of 32.
Chi-Shan Jao, Tyler Schick, Sebastian Rey and No. 66 Constantin Schmitz all cruised in their opening singles matches, recording straight-set victories to advance to Saturday's Round of 32. In addition, freshman Tim Ruetzel grinded out a 1-6, 6-2, 6-2 win over UAB's Kenton Parton to book a ticket into the next round as well.
The first wave of singles play for the Round of 32 on Saturday will commence at 10:30 a.m., followed by the second wave at noon.
