Willie Fritz Weekly News Conference
NEW ORLEANS - Homecoming 2016 kicked off for Tulane football with a two-hour practice at Yulman Stadium on Tuesday morning under perfect weather conditions.
The Green Wave (3-4, 0-3 American Athletic Conference | West) are preparing to face an SMU squad fresh off an upset victory over then No. 11/11 Houston. The Mustangs (3-4, 1-2 The American | West) travel to New Orleans for a third road contest in their last four games. Tulane and SMU are meeting for a 23rd time with the Green Wave holding a 13-9 series advantage. Kickoff on Saturday is set for 3 p.m. on ESPNews.
Head coach Willie Fritz said his squad is squarely focused on the Mustangs and getting that elusive first conference win this season.Â
"We just have to go out and play and play the very best we can," said Fritz. "We have to play better than we did last week. Prior to last week, we played six weeks and, in the three games we didn't have the outcomes we wanted, we were in the game with an opportunity to win. And last week we didn't. Now just have to get back to playing our brand of football."
Tickets for Saturday's game can be purchased by clicking here to purchase, calling 504-861-WAVE (9283) or visiting the Tulane Ticket Office, located on the first floor of the James W. Wilson, Jr. Center, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m.
